The idea that Fitz and Simmons saved themselves from their own mental prison by remembering they had friends felt so hackneyed and cartoony.

That's fine for a superhero show that has never aimed higher, but this show has been too complex to get by on that.

FitzSimmons used their mental versions of their friends to save them from their darker impulses.

Should have ended last season. Clark Gregg was the sole reason I stayed with it. Watched this season because of Sarge. That hag Melinda had to go and kill him, they better put her in jail.

Previews showed him appearing to be dead.

Don't forget appearances can be deceiving. Especially in comic book stories.
